My first area is an island called Cuidad del Carmen. It's beautiful! My companion is Elder Armenta from Mexico and he's way sweet. He's really helping me alot with the language. I found a scripture that says something like "they mock me because I am slow of speech" that's me right now but I'm learning more and getting better at Spanish all the time.

I'm Here !

Well hello! We got to Tuxtla G. around 8:30 last night and our Pres., his wife and others were all waiting for us. It was cool. Then we drove for an hour to the mission home where they fed us Pizza Hut. My first meal in Mexico - ha ha. It was funny! We slept on mattresses on the floor in the apartment where the assistants live. So, get this...my first area is an island called Carmen by the Yucatan! I'm so excited! My P-day is on Monday. I love you all so much!

Mexico...Here I come!!!

Well, wha da ya know ... The US Consolate finally came through for us and we got our VISA's yesterday! We were up until midnight frantically getting our laundry done and packing. Then we got up at 2 a.m. and left for the airport at 3:00! The plan is to fly to Dallas, then to Mexico City and from there to Tuxtla Gutierrez. Yeh! I'm stoked! It'll be awhile before I recover from the jet lag and culture shock but I'll keep in touch as often as I can. In the meantime, keep the e-mails coming: Bharris@myldsmail.net Chau !

Mexico delayed!

Hi everyone! Our VISAs did not arrive and therefore our flight to Mexico has been delayed until the 24th (hopefully). It's all good though because we're busy teaching and working in the RC. My comp and I are zone leaders now. It keeps us from having too much time to dwell on our delay. Please pray for our VISAs! -Elder Harris

Awesome Experience!

Hi everyone! Sorry it has taken me awhile to get settled in here. I had the most awesome experience this week in the R.C. (where people call for info about the church and for free Bibles and stuff). Anyway, a lady called in and said she was in a tough spot in her life and that she was praying and the commercial from our church came on. So she called for the free bible! I told her I would send one to her and she was so happy. I asked if the missionaries could deliver it and she said yes! I told her that God loved her and that the message she would receive was true. She said I sounded so young and that it was amazing that I knew so much. She asked me why I wanted to be a missionary and I told her I wanted to bring happiness to people's lives so that they could be happy like me. I testified to her again that God loves us and she was crying like crazy! The Spirit was there! I asked her if she prayed often and she said she did. I read her James 1:5 and told her to ask God about our message and she promised that she would. It was so awesome!

One week left!

Hello! so i have about one week left until I enter the MTC! I'm getting kind-of nervous. Tomorrow is the temple day.! Cutris, Bryson, Jake and I just got home from vacation to St. George and Las Vegas. it was really fun. We cruised the strip and of course hit on the hotties. We also went cliff jumping at Lake Mojave. We had a good time jumping 30 footers. Check out some of the pictures I will be posting. Scott and Jenn were awesome for letting us stay with them. the end of the trip was rough with them but I love you guys! Peace

Farewell

My mission farewell is this sunday the 31st of August. I dont leave until the 17th of september but my farewell is this sunday! It's crazy. Oh well!

Whats up?

So this is weird for me. I have never blogged before. My generation is the Myspace generation. the one before is the blog generation. I guess i'll join the old timers. Hopefully i can access the internet in mexico. We'll see. More to come. Peace
